Faro airport is 30-40 minutes away by car.

A taxi costs approximately €40-50 each way from the airport (depending on the size of taxi you need), and it's cheaper to book online in advance. The taxi website we have used is this one.

The apartment is very central in Armação de Péra and all local facilities are within easy walking distance and public transport to other nearby resorts is good so you really don’t need a car unless you want to explore the hinterland or the coast and coves, or want to visit the many golf courses nearby. However, it can actually be cheaper to hire a car than the return taxi fare from the airport, so try this one which we use or www.airauto.pt
